Equipment: Apogee Converters
What are they?...and why should you care? It's often stated, that all computer based recording systems sound the same. This is far from the truth however.
Leaving aside all other differences, the most vital stage of any Computer based rig, is how the sound actually *gets into* the computer. This is done through through something called an A/D (analog to digital) converter. These can cost anything from £10 to £10K.
We have invested more in our Apogee converters *alone* , than some places do on their entire recording setup!
